close的三種詞性: (1)形容詞意為「接近（指時間或空間）」，常用短語be close to 意為「離…近」，最高端為closest。還有「親密的」之意。
（2）動詞，意為「關上，閉上」，其反義詞為open。
（3）副詞，意為「接近；靠近」。

for… 表示「因…而感謝」，介詞for 後可接名詞、代詞或動名詞,用以說明感謝的原因。同義句為：thank you for…。

形容詞最高端用法
用法：當需要對三者或三者以上的人或事物進行比較，表示「最……」的含義時，需要用級。我們在使用最高端時應注意以下幾點。
1、形容詞最高端前通常要加定冠詞 ，但如果最高端前有物主代詞、名詞所有格等修飾時，則不用定冠詞。如：
(1)monday is my busiest day. (2)jim is mike』s best friend.。
2、形容詞最高端常與介詞in或of引導的短語（說明比較範圍）連用。若介詞後的名詞或代詞與句中的主語是同一類人或物時，常用of短語。當強調是在某一範圍、場所內進行比較時，常用in短語。
如：(1)she is the oldest of these children.
(2)lily is the youngest in her class.
3、形容詞最高端前可用序數詞進行限定，共同修飾後面的名詞，其結構為：the+序數詞+形容詞最高端+名詞。
如： the yellow river is the second longest river in china.黃河是中國第二長河。
4、有時有最高端修飾的名詞前還可以用不定冠詞來修飾,但這時不含比較的意思，只是表示「非常，很」。
如：their performance was a greatest success.他們的演出非常成功。
