to do 過去經常做某事
例句:he used to walk to school.=he walked to school in the past.
疑問句:did he use to walk to school?
否定句:he didn』t use to walk to school.
拓展:in the past 在過去 be used to doing 習慣於做某事
例句:he is used to getting up early.
like 一般指人的性格,品質 look like 一般指人的外貌
例句:(1)what is she like? she is very shy.
(2) what does he look like? he is tall and thin.
adj.沉默的 silence n.沉默
拓展:keep silent 保持沉默 in silence 沉默地
they walked to school in silence.
的位置:
在修飾adj / adv時,enough 放在adj / adv的後面,在修飾名詞時,enough 放在名詞的前面。
如:old enough / enough water
拓展:adj / adv + enough to do 足夠做某事
例句:the room is so big that we can live in it.=the room is big enough for us to live in.
has been + 時間段+ since +過去時句子。自從---以來已經有多長時間了。
=it is +時間段+ since +過去時的句子。
例句:it has been five years since i lived here.=it is five years since i lived here.
sb do 看見某人做了某事 see sb doing 看見某人正在做某事
例句:(1)i saw her go into the room.
(2)when i passed the park, i saw them playing.

7.連字元的作用:連字元前後連線的詞用單數。
例句:an eight-year-old boy a three-leg cup
up doing 培養做某事例句:my father took up learning english.
with = do with 處理
例句:how will you deal with the problem?=what will you do with the problem?

例句:we should dare to think
.10. give up doing= stop doing 放棄做某事
/ lonely 的區別:alone adv. 獨自地 lonely adj. 孤獨的
例句:the old man lived alone, but he never felt lonely.
12.不再:not-----any more=no more
not------any longer= no longer
no more / no longer 的位置是「實前be後.」
例句:he didn』t live here any more.=he no more lived here.
front of在----的前面 in the front of 在某一範圍內的前面
例句:the teacher stands in the front of the classroom.
14. a number of = many 許多
the number of的數量,做主語的時候,後面的動詞用單數。
例句:(1) a number of apples are red. (2)the number of students is 2,000.

adv. 很少 (否定詞),位置是「實前be後」

n.驕傲 proud adj.驕傲的,自豪的
take pride in = be proud of 為---感到自豪
例句:the old man is proud of his son.=the old man takes pride in his son.
4.反身代詞:單數以self結尾複數以selves 結尾
單數:myself yourself herself himself itself
複數:ourselves yourselves themselves
5. take good care of=look after-----well 好好地照顧
n.建議 (不可數) advise v.建議
(1)advise sb to do 建議某人做某事
例句:he advised me to buy a new computer.
(2)advise doing= suggest doing 建議做某事
例句:he advised le**ing early.
