1. if引導的非真實性條件句（虛擬條件句）.
you had come a few minutes earlier, you would h**e met him.(與過去事實相反) 要是你早來幾分鐘的話，你就能見到他了。
if it were(should be/were to be) sunny tomorrow, i would come to see you.(與將來事實相反) 明天要是天氣好的話，我來看你。
注意：與將來事實相反的虛擬條件句中，通常有表將來的時間狀語。同時，條件從句的謂語形式were(did)/should do/were to do所假設的可能性程度逐漸變小。
if i were you, i would go now. (與現在事實相反，事實上我不可能是你)
我要是你的話，我現在就走。
虛擬條件句中，表示與事實相反的條件，分為以下三種情況（以do為例）：

3. 在賓語從句中的虛擬語氣：
1） 在以下這些詞後面接的賓語從句中需要用虛擬語氣：
表示願望（wish），後接賓從中的虛擬語氣有三種情況：
wish i were 30 years younger. 但願自己能年輕30歲。
表示現在不可能實現的願望，從句謂語動詞用過去時態（did/were）
wished he hadn』t done it.他想要是他沒這樣做該多好。
表示過去不可能實現的願望從句謂語動詞用過去完成時（h**e done）
wish that you would get a good job.我希望你能找到個好工作。
表示對將來的虛擬，從句謂語動詞用情態動詞would/could+do
表示建議（suggest/advice/propose/recommend/urge）
要求（demand/request/require/insist）
命令（order/command））等引導的賓從中，常用should+do型虛擬語氣，should可省略。
doctor suggested that he (should) try to lose weight.
they urged that the school library(should)be kept open during the vacation.
he insisted that all of us (should) be there on time by any means.他堅持要我們想盡辦法按時去那兒。
he ordered that the students (should) wash the clothes every week by themseves. 他要求學生每週都要自己洗衣服
注：suggest若表示「表明、暗示」時，則用陳述語氣。
smill suggested that she agreed with us.
insist表示「堅持要求」時引導的賓從中用虛擬語氣，表示「堅持說，堅稱」時用陳述語氣，表示事實。
insisted that he was right. 他堅稱他是對的。
4. 主句的主語常是表示說話人願望（wish/desire）、建議（suggestion/advice）、要求（requirement/demand）、命令(order/command)等的名詞，表語從句的謂語動詞用（should）+do.
suggested is that you (should) be there on time.
5. 同位語從句的先行詞常是表示說話人的願望、建議、要求、命令等的名詞。
suggestion that students (should) learn something practical is worth considering.
do you know the order that you (should) take the task.
6. 在句型「it is important/necessary/strange/natural+that從句」中，that後面的從句謂語動詞用should+do
natural that she should do so. 他這樣做事很自然地。
it』s important that we should take good care of the patient.重要的是我們要照顧好病人。
7. 在as if/though從句中常用虛擬形式，即表示與現在事實相反時，用過去式；與過去事實相反時，用過去完成式（had done）.
1) as if連線表語從句時，
eg. she looked as if she were made of ice.她看起來似乎是冰做的。
he looked as if he hadn』t slept for two days.
2) as if 連線方式狀語從句時，
looked after the boy as if he were her own son.
he speaks to us as if he had been there.他給我們講的好像他去過那兒。
8. if only...意為「若是......那該多好啊；真希望；只要，只要……就好」
若表示現在的情況是謂動詞應用過去式；若是過去的情況謂動詞用過去完成時態。
only i had arrived in time!
if only she didn』t drive so fast.
9. it』s (high/right) time that...(從句中謂動詞用過去時或should+do)
time that you left/should le**e here.
10. 在would (had) rather(寧願)引導的賓語從句中
當從句表示現在或將來的時間時，謂語動詞要用一般過去時；表示過去的時間時，謂語動詞要用過去完成時。
would rather he/you came tomorrow than today.
11. 以下介詞短語，如：but for(要不是)，without,otherwise(否則)等表示含蓄的條件，這時主句要用虛擬語氣。
your help, we would not h**e made such rapid progress.
