冠詞，就是放在名詞之前，修飾名詞的詞，為虛詞。
1．冠詞分不定冠詞和定冠詞兩種
a，an為不定冠詞，用於單數可數名詞前，表示泛指，說明其名稱和種類，具有「乙個（本、塊-----）」的意思。 the為定冠詞，用於各類名詞前，表示特指，具有「這」、「那」的意思。
2．使用冠詞的注意事項
①a用於以子音音素(包括[w] [j] )開始的詞前。
a student a book a useful book
注意：字母u讀作[ju:]時，由於第一音是[ j ]是子音，所以前面用a，而不用an。
②an用於母音音素開始的詞前。
an old man
an hour
an eight-year-old boy
an one-meter-long ruler
【說明】幾個干擾均有可能誤選。
【分析】最佳答案填c。第一空填 a，因為 one-act 的讀音是以子音開頭，即第乙個音是子音不是母音；第二空填an，是因為 11的英文是eleven，它的第乙個音是母音不是子音。類似以下各題的答案是 c 不是其他：

③the既可用於單數或複數名詞前，也可用於不可數名詞前。其用法如下：
1）特指某（些）人或某（些）事物。
例如：the book on the desk is mine.
2）指說話雙方都知道或彼此熟悉的人或事物。
例如：open the window, please.
3）指上文提到過的人或事。
例如：there is a pen on the desk. the pen is my father』s.
4）指世界上獨一無二的事物。
例如：the sun, the moon, the earth, the sky, the world.
5）表示彈奏某種樂器時，該樂器前要加the.
例如：she plays the piano, and her husband plays the violin.
6）用在某些專有名詞前。
例如：the great wall, the summer palace, the changjiang river
7）用在序數詞和形容詞最高端前。
例如：mr. smith taught the first class.
kate is the tallest in her class.
8）用在固定搭配的短語中。
例如：in the morning(afternoon, evening), by the way
注意：下列情況不用定冠詞。
1）在球類運動名稱前不用。
例如：play football(basketball, volleyball)
2）在三餐前不用。
例如：h**e(has) breakfast(lunch, supper)
3）在某些固定搭配的片語中不用。
例如：at night(noon),
go to school(bed),
on foot, by bus(car, bike, air, plane, train, ship),
at home(work)
注意：在漢語節日中，由day構成的節日前常不用冠詞，而專有名詞所表示的節日前常用冠詞。
如：mid-autumn day, children』s day, teachers』 day, women』s day, may day, national day, new year』s day等前常不用冠詞。而由festival構成的節日前常用冠詞，
如：the spring festival, the dragon boat festival, the mid-autumn festival，the lantern festival等。
