一、形容詞的位置
1．形容詞在句中be 後常作表語
2．在名詞前叫定語，一般形容詞用「的」。
二、名詞化的形容詞
the + (adj): 表一類人或物。
作主語時，謂語動詞為複數
the rich, the poor, the old, the young等
三、表語性形容詞
1．只作表語、不能作定語置於名詞前但可作後置定語,沒有比較級的變化,不用very修飾。這樣的形容詞多以a開頭：alone, afraid, asleep, awake, able, ill, well等
例：①the baby is asleep. a sleeping baby. don』t wake up the baby asleep
②the old man is alone. a single man. a lonely man.
注意：smell聞起來, taste嘗起來, seem似乎, look, sound,聽起來，feel感覺也跟形容詞。
2．表語性形容詞可作狀語the man lives alone in a small house
四、形容詞的變化
1．形容詞有時是名詞加y變的
sun-sunny, ,wind-windy, snow-snowy, rain-rainy, cloud-cloudy, health-healthy, luck-lucky, noise-noisy;
2．有時又是名詞加ful變成形容詞
use-useful, care-careful, wonder-wonderful,
beauty- beautiful, forgetful, help-helpful ,hope- hopeful
3．有時動詞的過去時，過去分詞和形容詞一樣
worry-worried, frighten-frightened, frustrate-frustrated, fry-fried
五、形容詞比較等級的用法
①、比較級＋than…
②、the +比較級+ of +the +two… 兩個當中比較…的一位
③、the +最高端+ of (in) +三者或以上…
④、as+形容詞原級+as…
⑤、not so (as)+原級+as…
⑥、the 比較級，the 比較級：越….就越…
⑦、比較級+ and + 比較級：越來越….
⑧、one of the 最高端+名詞複數

例：1)foreign language is as important as chinese.
外語和漢語一樣難。
2)we did as badly as they. 我們做得和他們一樣差。
3)he throws as high as i. 他扔得和我一樣高。
②a例：1)this book isn』t as/so important as that one.這本沒那本重要.
=this book is less important as that one.
2)i didn』t swim as/so well as my brother.
3)she doesn』t get up as/so early as i.她沒有我起得早。
