重點句型有關最高端的一些句式。
一． 對這個單元重點句型的一些說明：
形容詞或者副詞的最高端：如果表示的是「三個或三個以上的人或事物進行比較最……的乙個」，我們就需要用形容詞或者副詞的最高端來表示，最高端一般要與定冠詞the連用。（最高端的變法與比較級類似，參看教材93頁，比較級加er的最高端就加est，比較級加more的最高端就加most，當然有些詞是不規則變化，前面說過，這裡不多說了。
）基本句型： 主語+動詞（be）+最高端+in…
of/among…
in或者of/among表示了一種比較的範圍。in後面往往跟一些單位，團體，組織等表示範圍的名詞，通常是單數，而且主語後面的名詞不是同乙個範疇；of/among後接人或者事物的名詞，通常是複數名詞，主語和後者的名詞是同一概念或者說主語是後面名詞的一部分，來看例子：
he is the best student in his class. 「他是他們班最棒的學生。」 class是乙個表示範圍的名詞，且主語he和class明顯不是乙個範疇。
he is the best student of the 50 students. 「他是 50個人中最棒的學生。」 he和the 50 students都是學生，都是同一概念，he就是50 students中的一員。
又比如：russia is the largest country in the world. russia is the largest country of all the countries.
kate runs fastest in our school. kate runs fastest of the three girls.
注意，最高端一般與定冠詞the連用，但是有些特殊情況：
1 形容詞最高端前有形容詞性物主代詞或者名詞所有格時，the必須省略。
he is my best friend. this is our school』s tallest building.
2 副詞最高端前the可以省略。
he sings (the) best in our classi like english (the) best among the four subjects.
3 形容詞最高端作表語，如果不是和別人（或物）相比，不需要the。
we are busiest on monday.
4 最高端前的most與不定冠詞a 連用，這時它不是表示最高端，而僅僅是表示程度，相當於very。
this is a most interesting storyshe is a most beautiful girl.
最高端一些常見的其它句式：
① one of the 最高端 「最……的其中之一」
tong ruiwen is one of the tallest students in class 23.
ziyue is one of the most beautiful girls in class 17.
② the+序數詞+最高端 「第……最……」
the yellow river is the second longest river in china.
she is the third most beautiful girl in her class.
③ 否定詞加比較級相當於最高端
i h**e never spent a more worrying day.
it can』t be better.
最高端和比較級應是考試的重點之一，在第六單元大綱上已有詳細的說明，這裡就不再多說，條條框框十分多，建議好好記記例句，增強語感。

2. comfortable (more, most) adj. 舒適的；安逸的 （反義詞uncomfortable）
a comfortable chair/job 一張舒適的椅子/乙份安逸的工作
comfort n. （不可數）1）舒適；安逸 they did everything for our comfort.
2) 安慰 the news brought comfort to us.
comfort v. 安慰；慰問 i tried to comfort her after her mother』s death.
3. seat n. 座位（可數）
there are not enough seats in the room.
take a seat = h**e a seat = sit down
take one』s seat please take my seat, i』ll get off next stop.

seat v. 1) 使…….就座
she seated herself on the sofa. (= she sat on the sofa.)
seat yourself = sit down = be seated
2) 容納；可座……人
the cinema can seat 1000 people.
4. screen n. （可數）
5. close adj. 近的；接近的
my house is close to school.
the children are close to each other in age. 孩子們在年齡上很接近。
he is my close friend. 他是我的密友（親密的朋友）。
adv. 附近地；位置接近地
they live quite close.
v. 關上；關閉；關門；結束 （反義詞是動詞open）
the banks close at 5pm. 商店下午五點關門。
could you close the door?
closed adj. 關閉的；閉合的 （反義詞是形容詞open）
the shop is closed on sundays. 這家商店在週日是不營業的。
the shop is close. 這句話什麼意思？哈哈，它是說「這家商店很近。」不要弄混了。
6. service n. （不可數） 接待；服務
the service in this hotel is really bad.
serve v. 為……服務；接待；提供（食品飯菜等）
nobody served me when i was in the shop. she served tea and bread to us.
7. quality n. 1) 質量 （不可數）
swiss watches h**e the best quality in the world.
the shoe shop has good quality shoes.
2) （人或物的）品德；品質；特質；特色等 （可數）
she has many fine qualities. 她有許多優良品德。
one quality of iron is hardness. 鐵的乙個特徵就是硬。
8. cinema 電影院（英國英語說法，美國英語也叫movie theater）
go to the cinema=go to the movies=go to see a film 去看電影
9. theater n. 戲院；劇場 go to the theater 去看戲
10. clothing, clothes和cloth的辨析
clothing n. 衣物（是衣服的總稱，無複數形式，除衣服之外還包括鞋襪帽等，作主語時謂語動詞用單數形式。一件衣物可以說「a piece of clothing」或「an article of clothing」。
）women』s clothing is cheaper than men』s clothing in this shop.
clothes n. 衣服 （是最常用詞，指身上各種服裝，只有複數形式，不能被數詞修飾，但是可以被many或a few等這樣的詞修飾。）
she always wears red clothes.
cloth n. 1）（做衣服的）布料 （不可數）
a piece of cloth 一塊布料 three meters of cloth 三公尺長的布料
2) （具有特定用途的）布 （可數）
she cleaned the window with an old cloth. 她用一塊舊抹布抹窗戶。
