1. i don』t think my arm is broken.
在動詞think, believe, expect, guess等後面的賓語從句中的謂語動詞如果是否定形式，這一否定形式往往轉移到主句中，也就是主句成了否定形式，而從句成了肯定形式，但實際上還是否定的從句。如：
we don』t believe they can keep up with us. 我相信他們是不會趕上我們的。
2. i wanted to stop her from running after the ball, but she didn』t hear me.
句式stop … from doing … 意為「阻止……做某事」，其中的stop可用keep, prevent加以替換。如：
the he**y rain stopped us from h**ing sports meeting. 大雨阻止了我們舉行運動會。
3. 「there is something wrong with me,」 i thought.
由some, any, no, every 加上thing, body, one可以構成表示人或物的不定代詞。比如something, anything, nothing, everything, somebody, anybody, nobody, everything等。以這類代詞作主語時，謂語動詞要用單數形式；並且形容詞修飾這類不定代詞時應該放在這些不定代詞之後。
如：everything is ok. let』s begin our meeting. 一切都準備好了。咱們開會吧。
is there anything new in today』s news*****? 今天的報紙上有什麼新訊息嗎？
4. it』s easy to slip and fall on a wet floor.
不定式作主語時，往往用it作形式主語，而將不定式放在後面。這句話中的主語是to slip and fall on a wet floor, it是形式主語，is是繫詞，easy是表語。如：
to hear your voice is so nice. = it is nice to hear your voice. 聽到你的聲音真高興。
to learn english well is very important. = it is very important to learn english well. 學好英語很重要。
5. i will never try to catch the falling dinosaur.
句中的falling 是現在分詞作定語，意思是「正落下的」，修飾後面的名詞dinosaur。過去分詞也有這種用法。如：
don』t wake up the sleeping boy. 不要叫醒那個熟睡的孩子。
the broken computer hasn』t been fixed yet. 那台壞電腦還沒修好呢。
現在分詞或過去分詞短語作定語時則應該放在它們所修飾的名詞之後。如：
do you know the girl singing in the room? 你認識正在房間裡唱歌的那個女孩嗎？
the table covered with ***** is red. 用紙蓋著的桌子是紅色的。
6. i told her i would be careful.
這是帶有賓語從句的復合句，主句為一般過去時，從句用的是過去將來時would be careful，在這裡表示過去將要做某事。如：
the children said they wouldn』t play football in the street. 孩子們說不會在街上踢足球了。
he told me he would not go with us if it rained.他告訴我如果天下雨的話，他就不和我一起去了。
